Sub-Base Material: Concrete with drainage, 95% compacted aggregate
Shock Absorbing Layer Material: SBR Buffings and Polyurethane binder (Polystar Binder)
Wear Layer: EPDM Rubber & Polyurethane binder or Tumbleturf®.

For the Wear Layer, EPDM Rubber is thoroughly mixed with Polystar Binder ( winter blend for low tempertaure and damp conditions), and trowelled evenly over the Shock Absorbing Layer. A variety of brilliant epdm rubber colors are available, so attractive patterns and designs can be created in the playground surface. For specific purposes or design considerations, slopes and mounds can be produced to contour the surface.

A sand/SBR rubber-filled grasslike Wearcoat (Tumbleturf ®) is available to work in conjunction with, or instead of, the epdm Wearcoat. Tumbleturf provides similar safety qualities, and meets ADA (American Disabilities Act), requirements.

Playground with Grasslike Surface

Characteristics:

Polystar provides a seamless, non-porous and highly resiliant playground surface with good traction and color retention. Normal installations provide a tested fall height of 9’-0”.

Cleaning is with water and, if necessary, mild detergents.

The Shock Absorbing layer is constructed of recycled crumb rubber or buffings, and, once cured, the surface is non-toxic and environmentally inert.
